WESTNILE’S LEOPARDS BOOK A PLACE IN THE NATIONAL 7’S RUGBY

Within months of formation, the She Leopards(leopardess) have started realising the fruits of their sweat.This is after an impressive tournament in the regional 7s Ruby tournament for Northern Uganda held in Lira,Kitgum and Gulu.The leopardess were runner ups in the tournaments in Lira and Kitgum before emerging champions in Gulu City, where they beat Lira Matrix 12:5 to book a slot in the national 7s Ruby tournament. On the road to this qualification they beat Gulu sprinters 25:0 and had a walkover win against Kitgum Queens.


With the wins at the Gulu Circuit,leopardess qualified in the second place after Kitgum Queens with a total of 60 points after Kitgum Queens who accumulated 61 points to lead the northern Region.
Olive Onyiru was awarded the most promising in the tournament while for the boys side the award went to Erima Godwin also from the Arua based club.however the performance of the boys team did not lead them to national qualification but respectable finish of sixth place in tournament which attracted eight teams and first appearance for the Nile leopards
