Finally, what has been dragging KCCA Fc and Gift Ali for a longer time than expected has been sorted out. It has been about a decision to either agree on a new deal or not.

And it looks like the decision reached provided a pleasant answer for either side.

After expiry of his contract in June, KCCA Fc had proposed a new 3 year deal for Gift Ali but the talks stalled as the player’s demands were higher than what the club expected.

Gift had initially staked his signature at Ugandan shillings fifty (50,000,000) millions only as sign on fee but the club management insisted that the figure was way beyond their budget.

After thorough negotiations in between KCCA, Gift and his agent earlier this week, the club’s initial offer of 3 years could not stand due to the player’s high wage demands as the parties finally agreed on a 2 year contract for the former Police Fc, Proline Fc and Arua Central Fc midfielder.

It has been reported to this website that both sides were in a trap as the club management did not have the option of the player leaving due to his heroic 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 performances yet on the other side, the player’s financial advances were a whole irk to them as well.

Reports also indicate that part of Mike Mutebi’s woes with the club management before he left the club rotated around lack of playing time the player had from the start of last season as he preferred Lorro Mazengo yet Gift Ali had a splendid 2019/2020 season.

After having completed the deal, Gift has another hurdle to climb as he has to overcome competition in the midfield from newly signed Emmanuel Wasswa from Sc Villa and Yasser Mugerwa from Ethiopian side Sidama Coffee, save for last season’s candidates in Lorro Mazengo and Jurua Hassan.

After all the paper works were completed, Gift immediately joined teammates at Njeru technical center where the club is in high gears for the CECAFA Kagame cup due in Dar es salaam.

Contrary to Morley’s reinforcements at Lugogo, Filbert Obenchan and Moses Kalanzi have departed as we await official communication about Keziron Kizito’s disposal.
