Late Madam Butele Alice to be Honored with a tournament

Former Uganda National Netball Federation executive treasurer Madam Butele Alice who was also a senior umpire in the game died in November after a lengthy battle with Cancer. She was at the forefront of promoting netball, identifying talent and mentoring young girls into the Discipline of Netball.

Due to her influence and impact on the game, a group of sports lovers and veteran sports personalities have decided to organize a Regional netball tournament in her honor.

The tournament organizer Mr. Asindua Martin, a versatile veteran coach hopes they will register as many teams as possible and make the tournament an annual event to remember her contribution to the game of Netball.

The tournament will cover all age categories and veteran’s team lead by Arua DistrictFootball Referees Association chair Mr. Ayub Khemis is already preparing to register their team. While Toko Badru aka T.O.K has already registered all media sports pundits and analysts for the Memorial tournament which is expected to run from 26th- to 31st  of December 2020 .

Both men’s and women’s team have been encouraged to register at a fee of UGX.30,000 through Asindua.

All  proceeds from the tournament will go towards supporting the family of the late Madam Butele Alice.
